Welcome to Spring 2

This is a quick, handy guide to what's coming up in school over the next few weeks, including important dates, events and useful reminders. We really appreciate your ongoing support and hope you find this helpful.

Important Dates

  • Asda Visit (D&T) 13:00–15:00 — Asda Pete will be visiting year 4 to taste different ingredients for their Food Tech project making a savoury pastry.
  • Year 4 Residential Information Meeting 15:20–16:00 — Parents/carers of children attending the Year 4 Bath/Bristol residential are invited to our information meeting to receive updates on our exciting trip.
  • World Book Day — World Book Day - Thursday 05.03.26. We would love to encourage your children to come in dressed up as their favourite book character. Prizes will be given for the best costumes (1 winner for each class). Please feel free to be imaginative as possible. Class teachers will be planning activities to promote reading for pleasure throughout the day. Your child will receive a £1 book voucher to use to purchase a WBD book of their choice. These books are available in local supermarkets, book stores and Walter Henry's Bookshop. All World Book Day books are available in braille, large print and audio. Should your child require these formats, please follow this link to find out how you can access this.
  • Roman Empire Immersion afternoon — Children will experience a full immersion into the Roman Empire to consolidate their learning. Children will be handling Roman artefacts and acting out the expansion of the Roman Empire to deepen their understanding of this historical period.
  • Coconut Crab Library Trip
  • Fairy Crab Library Trip
  • Parent Consultation Evening — Appointments can be booked through the usual online booking system. Please arrive five minutes before your appointment time and sign in at the school hall on arrival. You will then be given information to take with you before going to your child’s classroom to meet the class teacher.
  • Red Nose Day — Children are invited to come to school wearing something red to help us celebrate the day and raise money for a fantastic cause. This could be a red top, red accessories, or anything fun and red!rnWe kindly ask for a £1 donation, which will go towards helping Comic Relief
  • Parent Consultation Evening — Appointments can be booked through the usual online booking system. Please arrive five minutes before your appointment time and sign in at the school hall on arrival. You will then be given information to take with you before going to your child’s classroom to meet the class teacher.
  • Easter Bake Sale — The School Council will be running an Easter bake sale with bakes provided by years 5 and 6 children. Bakes will be available for all children to buy at break time - 50p each.
  • Year 4 Open Classroom — You are warmly invited into your child's classroom to look at their recent work.
  • Easter Egg Competition — The PTA will be running an egg decorating competition.  Feel free to be as creative as possible - what could your egg be?  An eggstronaut?  A Superegg? An eggysaurus?

PE Information

PE Days: Monday and Wednesday

Both outdoor PE. jogging bottoms/leggings or shorts can be worn.
