Welcome Back
We hope you had an enjoyable Easter break. We are looking forward to another exciting term. This half term, we will busy getting ready for our sports day and sponsored run! We have an exciting curriculum across the school and we can't wait to get started for our summer term.
Music (Expressive Arts and Design, Being Imaginative and Expressive)
Children will partake in daily singing sessions where will sing a variety of well known nursery rhymes and songs, whilst joining in with the actions and practising moving in time to music! We will also be partaking in movement through music sessions once a week.
Geography (People, Culture and Communities) — Land, Sea and Air
This term in Geography, we will be learning all about how people can travel. We will finding out about how the world is made of land, sea and sky whilst looking at methods of transport of each. We will also be explaining some of the differences between life in this country and other countries, drawing on knowledge from stories, non-fiction texts and maps.

D&T and Art (Expressive Arts and Design, Creating with Materials)
During continuous provision time, the children will have access to a D&T and art area. Here, they will be encouraged to safely use and explore a variety of materials and tools and techniques whilst experimenting with colour, design, texture, form and function. Children will proudly share their creations, explaining the process that they have used and when appropriate, will make use of their creations when role playing characters in narratives and stories.
Science (Understanding the World, Natural World) — On the Farm
This term in Science, we will be learning all about farms and understanding why they are important. We will be finding out about what animals live on a farm and what food animals produce. We will also be learning about how farm produce can be made into other foods e.g wheat into flour and milk into butter.

PE
This term in PE, we will be covering the following sports to develop our strength, flexibility and team work skills:
- Summer 1: Athletics and gymnastics
- Angelfish Class: We will be continuing swimming on Friday 24th April, Friday 1st May, Friday 8th May and Friday 15th May.
- Clownfish Class: We will be swimming from Friday 22nd May. Please make sure children come to school wearing their swimming costume under their school uniform.
Trips
We will be visiting Rosemoor on Wednesday 17th June, focusing on science and art. To be able to go, we do rely on volunteers to join us. If you are able and willing, please speak to your child's class teacher.
Homework
To support your child with their RWI reading journey, we will be sending QR codes every Friday.
We would love for you to read with your child every day. This could be sharing a book together, listening to your child read or reading to your child. We would like reading at home to be an enjoyable and shared experience.
