This is a quick, handy guide to what's coming up in school over the next few weeks, including important dates, events and useful reminders. We really appreciate your ongoing support and hope you find this helpful.
Important Dates
- World Book Day — Thursday 05.03.26 We would love to encourage your children to come in dressed up as their favourite book character. Prizes will be given for the best costumes (1 winner for each class). Please feel free to be imaginative as possible. Class teachers will be planning activities to promote reading for pleasure throughout the day. Your child will receive a £1 book voucher to use to purchase a WBD book of their choice. These books are available in local supermarkets, book stores and Walter Henry’s Bookshop. All World Book Day books are available in braille, large print and audio. - History Workshop - Vikings — History Workshops Devon will be visiting our school to host a number of interactive activities to further extend the childrenu2019s knowledge about Anglo-Saxon and Viking life. The day will include dressing up, learning Viking fighting formations and many other hands-on activities to bring the learning to life! This has been fully funded by the PTA's fundraising efforts.
- Parent Consultations — Appointments can be booked through the usual online booking system. Please arrive five minutes before your appointment time and sign in at the school hall on arrival. You will then be given information to take with you before going to your child’s classroom to meet the class teacher.
- Red Nose Day — Please wear red. We would suggest a donation of £1 that will be given to Red nose charity.
- Dental Hygienist Visitor. — To embed their knowledge about physical health and bones, the children will take part in a disclosing session where they will learn about efficient brushing and dental health.

- Easter Bake Sale — The School Council will be running an Easter bake sale with bakes provided by years 5 and 6 children. Bakes will be available for all children to buy at break time for 50p each.
- Geography Fieldwork — Please ensure your child has a waterproof coat. We will be creating a sketch map of our local area to support our research into why people choose to live in Bideford.
- Enterprise Club Product Sale. — Children will be selling a range of products that they have spent the last few weeks designing and marketing. Products will be sold by the Parkour area (weather dependent). More information about products and pricing will be sent closer to the time.
- Easter Egg Competition — We would love for you to decorate your own eggs. Winners will be chosen and receive eggscellent prizes! Feel free to be as creative as possible - what could your egg be? An eggstronaut? A Superegg? An eggysaurus?
PE Information
PE Days: Tuesday and Wednesday and Thursday
Immortal Jellyfish PE days: Tuesday and Wednesday. Mimic Octopus PE days: Tuesday and Thursday. Both outdoor slots so please ensure your child has leggings/joggers and a jumper.
